Locating a lost franchise, an ephemeral empire, a disappeared fortune.

Before my flight I tossed and turned all night. I kept waking up and seeing mustached men in early 20th century suits staring down at me. I had started digging through the articles, digital archives, decayed facebook JPGs, vague memories, etc. and had already come to some outlandish conclusions about what it all amounted to. The men were not pleased with my story telling. But, they also didn't try to intervene.

It scared me to write down our name. The marks left by my hand matched yours. Even though we've never met. Even though you died more than 100 years ago. Somehow my hand remembers what it was like to write our name.
