How Can I Ever Thank You?

In physics, sound is a vibration that propagates as an acoustic wave through a transmission medium such as a gas, liquid or solid.

“Palpitations. You had tea today, the green tea, that has caffeine in it.”

When a musician writes a piece of music and plays it for the first time they start something new

When that musician plays the piece again they travel through time. They get to meet that piece, and themselves from the past again.

Enchantment.

Knowing. Before it’s even happened.

In grief, how have I become so compelled

How does sound come to reach you?

There’s nothing

I can say or do

To express how grateful I am

for all of this.

How grateful I am to feel.

Only flesh and blood.

But it's through these means that we come to understand things that don’t originate within us.

Sound is literally defined by the wave mechanics that are used to produce it.

But the sound that we understand, acknowledge and perceive is the version of sound in which a hearing mechanism is utilized, like our inner ear, to create sound as a sensation.

Do you feel that?

All these waves, coming to meet you, exactly where you are. Isn’t that special?

If I ever leave you, you could say

“I told you so.”

sound is god

sound is love

Imagine how time is traveled by sound. A sound wave moves across space and time

to bring you new information.

What do I do with it?

with how I feel.

“I don’t know why.”

“It’s just your personality.”

It’s magic. Or maybe something else.

Maybe it’s love.

Isn’t it?

obsessed, captivated, enthralled

“Go over there. I want, I want to hear, I want to hear like the difference.” “She wants to hear the resonance.”

The sound you’re hearing has traveled quite a long way to make its meeting with you.

How does it feel to know that no matter how far away you are, this would still come to meet you.

[clap]

[forced string harmonics]

[heartbeat]

[heartbeats]

But that’s not the way it feels.

[heartbeats]

[viola rings out]

[church bells at the funeral]

[disembodied choir]

[hush]

[bells return]

[every love song is played at once]

in my heart beating

[every love song is hummed at once]

[heartbeat]

[slide up]

[heartbeats]

you could say I told you so.

and if I ever hurt you.

you know I hurt myself as well.

[heartbeats]

[humming]

[voices return]

[everything returns]
