Work/Volunteer Experience
Museum Educator, The Metropolitan Museum of Art
July 2024 - Present
I am a pilot member of a team of educators developing music education programs that highlight the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Music Instrument Department. I also develop and facilitate general K-12 school group tours and assist with festivals, workshops and broader public programs.
Teaching Artist, Creative Music Programs
March 2024 - Present
I design and execute engaging, hand-on music education classes that take place over the course of 6 to 15 week residencies within NYC public schools. I develop lessons that encourage students with no prior experience with music making to become confident performers, develop basic music vocabulary, and foster an enthusiasm for the arts. I frequently collaborate with classroom teachers and school administration to create thematic lessons and define the learning and developmental needs of students. I research current music education pedagogy and folk music traditions.
Museum Educator, Japan Society
March 2024 - Present
I develop engaging and developmentally appropriate inquiry-based gallery tours for K-12 students. I research seasonal exhibitions focused on Japanese art history and culture. I participate in walkthroughs, gallery information sessions and lectures given by curators and education staff.
